Charmed By The Super Moon

The biggest full moon of the year, also known as “Super Moon", rose into the night sky Saturday to the delight of sky observers around the world.

A Super Moon happens when the moon’s elliptical orbit swings it closest to the Earth,” said senior scientist from the Russian Pulkovo observatory, Sergey Smirnov.  “Every year there are 13 new moons and 13 full moons, occasionally producing some exceptional spectacles. The super-sized moon was the result of the moon being at a point nearest to the Earth.

Observers were able to distinguish craters and other lunar features in clearer detail than normal. NASA says the super full moon appears about fourteen per cent larger and thirty per cent brighter than other full moons in 2012.
A super full Moon can bring tides that are higher than normal due to larger tidal force acting on earth. The effect can be amplified by local geography, but only by about six inches.
Super-full moons occur about once a year on average. The best time to look is when the Moon is near the horizon. That is when illusion mixes with reality to produce a truly stunning view.

Do you know?
It has been argued that the Earth is subjected to natural disasters such as earthquakes and volcanic activity within 3 days of a supermoon. This is due to the Moon's increased gravitational force acting on the earth.  Speculations have moved the estimation  to within 1 or 2 weeks of a supermoon to suggest a causal relationship with specific natural disasters such as the 2011 Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami and the 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake and tsunami.
However,  studies have reported a weak correlation between lunar activity and shallow, very low intensity earthquakes. No evidence has been found of any correlation of super moon to the major earthquakes

The Bizzare Lifestyle of Manchester City Striker- Mario Balotelli Exposed By Ex-Lover Chole Evans

The Sun revealed that the Manchester City striker had a 19 month relationship with Chloe Evans.

Chloe met Balotelli in Manchester’s exclusive nightclub in August 2010 — shortly after his move to City from Inter Milan for £24million. He bombarded her with messages until she agreed to go on a date when she got her first taste of what the crazy future hold.

Chloe said: “We went to the movie and Mario nearly got us chased out because he was throwing popcorn around and laughing out really loud.

The busty blonde described how he filled his mansion with sweets, bet his brother £5,000 to drink his urine, loved water fights and even hurled a lobster at her. His house is like a children’s playground — everything is just mad.
According to The Sun, Chloe spent a full week at his mansion this month, where the pair discovered his love of lipstick. 'We were both a bit bored and messing about. so I turned him into a WAG for a laugh!,' 21-year-old Chloe told The Sun. 'We used my make-up, and before you knew it he was Marilyn Balotelli!' 'I got a blonde wig that I had at the time and put that on him to complete the look. Mario loved it, he started prancing around and posing in front of the mirror. He said he looked prettier than me.'

To sum up her impression of him: “Imagine a cross between Willy Wonka, Michael Jackson and Peter Pan — and you’ve got Mario Balotelli.

Manchester City star Mario Balotelli has allegedly cheated on his model girlfriend Rafaella Fico, 23, with personal assistant Chloe Evans, 21.

According to Chloe, the pair had sex in October 2011, at the time when Balotelli and Rafaella had been together for four months. It was claimed that Chloe initially resisted his advances, and stopped him while they were having intercourse for the first time.  She claimed that Mario pestered her constantly via text and Facebook, and said he was unable to go longer than a week without sex.

Chloe says it was his possessiveness that drove her to break up with him- when he accused her of an affair with a hairdresser.

She added that Mario claimed he needed to have sex to improve his stamina for football, and especially loved to kiss her and see her in the shower.

Meanwhile Rafaella recently told an Italian magazine; 'Mario is the man I love.'
'We are both very busy and very young. But if he asked me to marry him, I would accept. I like him.'

“THE SCREAM” Painting Sold At A Record $119.9M

“THE SCREAM” Painting Sold At A Record $119.9M

A version of Edvard Munch’s iconic painting, “The Scream” sold at Sotheby’s tonight for just under $120 million, The New York Times reports.  That's the highest price for a painting ever set by an auction house.

The image of a man holding his head and screaming under a streaked, blood-red sky is one of four versions by the Norwegian expressionist painter. The auctioned piece at Sotheby's is the only one left in private hands.

Created more than 100 years ago by Edvard Munch, an Norwegian painter, the nightmare vision of human suffering depicted in The Scream has haunted and captivated successive generations.

The 1895 artwork is a modern symbol of human anxiety and has become part of pop culture, "used by everyone from Warhol to Hollywood to cartoons to teacups and T-shirts," said Michael Frahm of the London-based art advisory service firm Frahm Ltd.

"Together with the Mona Lisa, it's the most famous and recognized image in art history," he added

A buzz swept through the room when the artwork was presented for auction as two guards stood watch on either side. Bidding started at $40 million with seven buyers jumping into the competition early.
The battle eventually boiled down to two phone bidders as the historic hammer price was finally achieved after more than 12 minutes.
The winning telephone bidder’s identity has remained a closely-guarded secret, but it is thought he or she probably comes from Asia or the Middle East.
Sotheby's said the pastel-on-board version of "The Scream" is the most colorful and vibrant of the four and the only version whose frame was hand-painted by the artist to include his poem, detailing the work's inspiration.

The seller was Norwegian Petter Olsen, whose father was a friend and patron of the artist.
He sold the piece through Sotheby's because he felt "the moment has come to offer the rest of the world the chance to own and appreciate this remarkable work."
The most expensive painting bought outside an auction is The Card Players by Paul Cézanne which changed hands last year for £156.9million in a private transaction.
Proceeds from the sale will go toward the establishment of a new museum, art center and hotel in Hvitsten, Norway, where Olsen's father and Munch were neighbors.

Do You Know?
The Scream has been the target of several high-profile art thefts.
On 22 February 1994, the same day as the opening of the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer, four men broke into the National Gallery and stole its version of The Scream, leaving a note reading "Thanks for the poor security".

It was recovered several months later. The painting had been moved down to a second-story display as part of the Olympic festivities, and the presence of international media covering the games made the theft a sensation.
Another version of The Scream was stolen in 2004. On 22 August, during daylight hours, masked gunmen entered the Munch Museum in Oslo and stole two paintings: Scream and Munch's Madonna. A bystander photographed the    robbers as they escaped with the artwork to their car.
